What Happens When You Get Gallbladder Stones Disease

How to Dissolve Prostate Stones

The first thing that comes to mind is- Will I be able to remove gallstones without surgery? When you have gallstones, sometimes there are no symptoms and sometimes there is intense pain in the abdomen. This pain may travel to your shoulder and back. Your body gives you signs of gallbladder stones which must not ignore such as fever, chills, abdominal pain, yellow eyes, nausea, vomiting or gray stool.

And the cause of gallbladder stones is that the liver secretes more bile than it can resolve. Another reason may be the frequency at which the gallbladder empties is lesser than it should.

People in India assume that they can remove gallbladder stones without operation with home remedies.

What Happens During Turp

TURP requires a hospital stay. Procedures may vary depending on yourcondition and your healthcare providers practices.

Generally, a TURP follows this process:

  • You will be asked to remove any jewelry or other objects that might get in the way during surgery.
  • You will be asked to remove your clothing and will be given a gown to wear
  • You’ll be asked to empty your bladder.
  • An IV line will be put in your arm or hand.
  • You will be positioned on an operating table, lying on your back.
  • You will be given anesthesia to put you to sleep for the procedure. Your legs will be placed in stirrups.
  • Your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and blood oxygen level will be monitored during the surgery.
  • Once youre sedated, a breathing tube may be put through your throat into your lungs and you will be connected to a ventilator. This will breathe for you during the surgery.
  • The surgeon may first inspect the urethra and bladder with an endoscope. This is done by passing the scope through the tip of the penis, then into the urethra and bladder. This allows the healthcare provider to examine these areas for any tumors or stones in the bladder.
  • Next, the resectoscope is passed into the urethra. It is used to cut away the pieces of prostate tissue that are bulging or blocking the urethra. Electricity will be applied through the resectoscope to stop any bleeding. The pieces are flushed into the bladder, and then drained out through the urethra.
  • The resectoscope is removed.
  • What Is The Outlook For People Who Have Bladder Stones

Some small bladder stones may pass out of the body without treatment. But for the majority that dont pass on their own, providers can remove them with minimally invasive procedures or surgery. With proper treatment, bladder stones dont cause long-term health problems.

Untreated bladder stones can lead to pain, difficulty urinating, bleeding and infection. Talk to your provider if you have a health condition that can lead to bladder stones. If you dont treat the cause, bladder stones may form again.

Has Anyone Had Bladder Stones Removed

    stebrunner

Due to BPH and acute urinary retention, I have bladder stones. Been checking into having PAE done to reduce the size of my prostate, but the radiologist says that I must have the stones removed before the PAE. My new urologist told me that because my prostate is so large the blood vessels may be weakened, causing bleeding during the bladder stone removal. He said that if there is too much bleeding, he will have to do a partial TURP. Has anyone on this forum with BPH had bladder stones removed? Have you had a partial TURP? What was your experience?

Hello. Tell your urologist that you only want the stones removed. He has to do what you ask. Your problem may get better. Why have something done if you don’t need it.. The side effects will be the same don’t let him core out your prostate. You will get retro and alto of bleeding that is the procedure they did 10 years ago. Just tell him no get the stone out for now If he won’t get a doctor that will. If that does not work for your retention they have the PAE. Take care and good luck Ken

Can Kidney Stones Affect Your Psa Count

No. Prostate-specific antigen is a protein produced by cells in the prostate gland. A PSA test is performed through a simple blood draw and shows the PSA level in a mans blood stream. Men who have prostate cancer often have an elevated PSA level. There are conditions that can result in high PSA levels that are not related to cancer. These include prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia .

If you think natural treatments are not helping you get rid of gallstones, talk to the doctor about other treatment options. The doctor may suggest surgery. One of the best treatment is Laparoscopic treatment which is widely used across the world for gallstones removal.

Laparoscopic gallstones removal surgery is the minimally invasive procedure and is known as laparoscopic cholecystectomy. In this procedure, the gallbladder is removed to get rid of the gallstones. Gallstones form inside the gallbladder due to the solidification of bile . It is a commonly performed procedure to remove gallbladder stones over open surgery.

There are some risks of laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery but are temporary:

    • Allergic to anesthesia
    • Damage to the nearby structure if not performed by experts
    • Harm to blood vessels

But the surgery is performed by highly skilled experts so the chances are very less that these risks prevail. There are several benefits:

    Reasons For The Procedure

The goal of radical prostatectomy is to remove all prostate cancer. RP isused when the cancer is believed to be confined to the prostate gland.During the procedure, the prostate gland and some tissue around the gland, including the seminal vesicles, are removed. The seminal vesicles are thetwo sacs that connect to the vas deferens , and secrete semen.Other less common reasons for radical prostatectomy include:

    • Inability to completely empty the bladder

    • Recurrent bleeding from the prostate

    • Bladder stones with prostate enlargement

    • Very slow urination

    • Increased pressure on the ureters and kidneys from urinary retention

There may be other reasons for your doctor to recommend a prostatectomy.

Enlarged Prostate Treatment May Help Passage Of Large Kidney Stones In The Urine

Written byDevon AndrePublished onNovember 3, 2016

Enlarged prostate treatment may help with the passage of large kidney stones in the urine. The patients in the study were treated with tamsulosin, a common treatment for an enlarged prostate. The researchers found this treatment helped improve kidney stone passage through urine.

Researcher Dr. Jeremy Furyk explained, Kidney stones are a bit of a mystery, occur frequently in the community, and generally affect young, healthy adults. It can be extremely painful to pass these jagged little crystallized minerals, and its very common for sufferers to go to an emergency department for treatment. Of more than 400 patients in the trial, we found those who received tamsulosin passed, their large kidney stones more often than the placebo group. This means patients with large stones might not need more complicated treatments including surgeries, and this has potential to improve care and reduce costs. Were very excited because tamsulosin treatment may also allow patients to be treated closer to home rather than needing referral to a major centre.

Dr. Furyk suggests that this mode of treatment can help individuals living in rural areas where treatment for kidney stones can be limited.

Do You Need Treatment If You Have Prostate Calcification

When prostatitis sufferers do tests, they may be aware by doctors that there are calcification spots on their prostate, it’s called prostate calcification, which is one of the causes of prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia. These calcification spots themselves do not usually cause symptoms, but the prostate infections they causes can bring much pain and discomfort to males.

For instance, chronic prostatitis can cause many unbearable symptoms, including pain in pelvic and genital areas, urinary frequency and urgency, painful and burning urination, weak urine flow, difficulty urinating, etc. Here you will know more about prostate calcification.

    Formation of prostate calcification

Early stage prostate calcification is a fibrosis of prostate. Common it is occur with no symptom. Such a fibrosis may occur in your body but you feel nothing about it. However, on some patients, they may suffer from anxiety, poor sleep, and burning and dampness at perineum area. As prostate fibrosis develops, there would be calcification spots.

    Development of prostate calcification

Prostate stone is a later stage calcification. Prostate stones can cause chronic prostatitis and accompany urinary tract infection. It is a direct cause of secondary UTI.

    Prostate Stones What Are They

All of us are familiar with kidney stones, either knowing someone whos had them or maybe have experienced them ourselves. But have you ever heard of prostate stones? Also known as prostatic calculi, these small brownish-gray stones, about the size of a poppy seed, can form in and around the prostate gland. A man may have only one calculus, or he could have hundreds of calculi.

About 80% of prostate stones are made of calcium phosphate and can resemble nodules. What seems like a nodule is actually a tiny formation of calcified minerals with the prostate stone being harmless. It is believed these stones are formed either by secretions from the prostate thickening or when pus and another debris fuse together during an infection. The incidence of men with prostate stones is relatively unknown but has been reported to vary widely anywhere from 7% to 70% of men with prostate stones.

Urethral Steinstrasse Following Laser Lithotripsy Of Prostatic Urethral Calculi

    J. Nicholas Sreshta

1Division of Urology, Department of Surgery, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX, USA

    Abstract

Symptomatic prostatic calculi are rare occurrences with several management options, the most popular of which is currently transurethral laser lithotripsy. This is a generally well-tolerated procedure with minimal complications. To date, no reported episodes of steinstrasse at the urethral level following prostatic calculi lithotripsy have been documented to our knowledge. We report a unique case of acute urinary retention secondary to obstructive calculi fragments following a transurethral laser lithotripsy of large prostatic calculi, further complicated by stricture at the fossa navicularis.

    1. Introduction

Due to the rarity of large recurrent symptomatic prostatic calculi and the occurrence of urethral steinstrasse after laser lithotripsy, we chose to report this case, which occurred over the course of six months.

    2. Case Presentation

At 3-month follow-up, the patient returned to the clinic with restricted flow, a spraying stream, and a PVR of 87mL. Office cystoscopy demonstrated an 810-French stricture in the fossa navicularis requiring a urethral meatotomy. Subsequent cystoscopy a month later demonstrated a normal urethra and a singular calculus in the prostatic fossa that was noted to be nonobstructive. Two weeks later at follow-up, the patient reported he was urinating well.

    What Happens On Surgery Day

Your surgeon will give you specific instructions on what to do with your medications and diet before the date of your procedure. Most laser kidney stone treatments are done on an outpatient basis, so you can go home the same day.

You will have general anesthesia, so you will sleep through surgery. This helps make sure that you are still when the small instruments are inside your body. Newer lasers are precise and powerful which can make it easier for the surgeon to control and fragment the stone. This helps reduce the time of your surgery, so you can spend less time asleep and get back to your normal routine faster.

What Are The Symptoms Of Prostate Stones

A large number of men who have prostate stones will not experience symptoms. Sometimes, some symptoms develop that may not be specific to prostate stones. Several other conditions may also be linked to the specific symptoms that the patient complains about.

For this reason, men should be aware of all symptoms that are generally associated with prostate stones. This can help them realize when it may be appropriate to see a doctor. Even when symptoms do not lead to the diagnosis of prostate stones, another underlying cause may be identified in the process.

Pain is a relatively common problem that men complain about when they have prostate stones. The pain symptoms may occur in the penis. Some men find that their perineum becomes painful. This is the area between the scrotum and the anus. There are also some cases where men develop lower back pain when they have prostate stones4.

Urination difficulty is another potential symptom of prostate stones. This is especially the case when the stones cause a man to experience inflammation in his prostate gland.

The inflammation causes the prostate gland to constrict the urethra. It is important to consider the fact that the urethra runs through the prostate gland. This can make urinating more difficult.

What Is The Alternative To Surgery To Remove Prostatic Stones

    PROSTATE STONES IN TURP

Answered by: Dr Rajesh Ahlawat | ChairmanDivision of Urology and Renal TransplantationMedanta Kidney and Urology InstituteMedanta, the Medicity

Q: Is it possible to treat prostate calculus without surgery? If yes, how? If someone has prostate calculus and fever whenever he has sex, does this indicate the need to immediately remove the calculus?

A:Prostatic stones are very common. When ultrasound exams of the prostate are done for other reasons, 75% of middle-aged men and nearly 100% of older men are found to have prostate stones. These may be seen in younger men too having chronic prostatitis. They aren’t always apparent during a rectal exam or on X-rays. Prostate stones are usually tiny and do not cause symptoms. In some men, association of prostatic stones with prostatitis may cause recurrent urine infection difficult to cure. Association of fever and act of ejaculation also points to such a possibility in your case. You need to be evaluated for the infection and treated with appropriate antibiotic therapy for a long period, usually upto 8 to 10 weeks. Prostatic calculi are not removed like kidney or ureteric stones, and it is necessary to remove part of prostate gland to remove them. In young patients it is not advisable to offer any surgical treatment for prostate or its contained calculi since it carries a risk of retrograde ejaculation, and thus infertility.
